FFFriday’s ‘very FFF’ goes both online and offline

Fashion Farm Foundation commences its “very FFF” version of FFFRIDAY with its FFFriday Pop-up featuring the designs of 20 Hong Kong brands including Atelier Phyl, WHY, Yeung Chin, Cynthia & Xiao, and more. The first part of the pop-up event – CYBER & IRL EXTRAVAGANZA – takes place till May 18, 2020. This will be followed by the second part – Huge Weekend Pop-up Shopping EXTRAVAGANZA that will go on from May 21 to 24, 2020.

Happening both online and offline, the pop-up store is designed in a way to bring out the aura of the city’s shopping scenario during the ’70s and ’80s. Speaking about the decoration, On-Ying Lai, the co-founder of fashion label YAT PIT and the Creative Director of FFFRIDAY said, “This year’s ‘very FFF’ edition of FFFriday is designed to allow the public to discover hidden gems in the local fashion industry.”

More importantly, this year FFF took its FFFriday Presentation online for the first time with five local brands including Feaston, KA WA KEY, Ponder.er, SFZ & SON, and YMDH presenting their collections.

Presenting their Autumn/Winter 2020 collection titled Unsettled Shell, the designer duo of Ponder.er breaks from the usual sharpness attributed to menswear collections and go for a much softer feel by incorporating lace and other elements.
YMDH presents its street-wear collection Big Bad Club that is inspired by the events in Hong Kong including the social distancing and the protests.

In its collection, Feaston emphasises on the way advertisements and pop-culture impact people’s fashion choices more than anything.

Taking inspiration from graffiti culture, SFZ & SON’s collection includes clothes that are both comfortable and practical for work. It features components like big pockets, loose fits, and more.

KA WA KEY presents its latest collection The Twinkle Prince that it initially presented at Paris Fashion Week. Similar to the presentation in Paris, this one is also highly influenced by the French tale Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince).

The organisation will be ending this two-week initiative with FFFriday Gig, an event that will bring together the city’s fashion and street music scene. Featuring Hong Kong musicians including JB, MC Yan, Magic Ramen, and others, the event will be taking place online on May 24 from 9:00 in the night.

The Fashion Farm Foundation has continued to support local fashion brands by helping labels to reach international exposure. Recently, the organisation took eight brands to showcase their collection at Paris Fashion Week and Arab Fashion Week.
